2023 Turkey Trot 5k Nov. 23

Come join the Champaign Family YMCA for the 2023 Turkey Trot 5k on November 23rd.. This will be a family event and runners, walkers, and strollers are all welcome to join them! The course is well marked along the scenic Simon Kenton Bike Trail and will pass through the beautiful Melvin Miller Park. There will be a 1-Mile Gobble Wobble option available and is geared towards those that want to hang out and take it easy and have a nice short walk or jog. Costumes are encouraged!

Race entries include a T-Shirt if registered by November 1, 2023. Commemorative finisher medals will be given to participants as they cross the finish line. ​

Top (3) finishers for each group will be awarded a trophy. Additionally, we will have endless choices of pie inside of our Lobby for you to choose from and enjoy after the race!

It is preferred that participants pre-register online. Same day registrations will be available, if needed, and will begin at 7:30am at our front desk. The race will begin at 8:30am with runners at the front of the group and walkers at the back.

Proceeds from the race will go towards the YMCA Annual Campaign. The Annual Campaign provides scholarships and assistance for individuals and families in our community to access YMCA programs for a healthy lifestyle including senior programming, community health, youth camps, swim lessons, and much more!

Here's what you need to know about the 5K route:
📍 Course Map: Familiarize yourself with the course map beforehand. Check out the route to know where you'll be running and what to expect along the way. It could be *hilly*.
➡️ Follow the Arrows: Look out for the directional arrows along the route! They'll guide you through the course to ensure you stay on track toward that finish line.
🙋‍♂️ Volunteers Along the Path: Champaign Family YMCA volunteers will be stationed along the route to provide support, cheer you on, and assist with any questions you might have. They're there for you every step of the way!
💧 Water Station: You'll pass by the water station TWICE, located near the tennis court and dog park intersection. Stay hydrated and take advantage of the refreshments to keep your energy up!
