What sports do you play?
Cross Country and Track

What has being a student athlete taught you?
Being a student athlete has taught me how to always stay motivated and to always want to do better. Running has made me more passionate about everything I do in life because of the motivation that comes along with running. Running has truly transformed me mentally and physically.

Favorite moment as a high school athlete?
Winning the CBC championship in 2022.

A coach/mentor that has inspired you & why?
My coach Mr. Lightle has inspired me and motivated me with my running. He is always encouraging me to do my best and push myself every day. I would not be where I am in my running career without him.

Creative Foundations Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 22nd for Creative Foundation's new location, 658 Bodey Cir, Urbana OH 43078. Creative Foundations is a program dedicated to serving adults with developmental disabilities. The day program is blessed to have so many people who donated wood, paint, brushes, and more supplies. Their staff works with the individuals to create beautiful art to take to festivals where they sell it in order to earn 100% of the sale in a paycheck. Throughout the week, many people have seen a group of individuals watering the flowers and cleaning up around the square.

Along with making art to sell, they also have a cooking group twice a week where a group works in the kitchen in the morning to create a delicious lunch. On Wednesdays, a group goes with a staff member to deliver Meals on Wheels. You might’ve even seen them on Fridays in our community for “Fun Friday”. As a group, they pick out lunch and a fun activity to do as a way to round off our week of hard work. You can learn more at www.creativefoundations.org

The City of Urbana, in partnership with residents, local businesses, and community partners, is developing a Plan for a portion of the North Main Street corridor.

The goal of the plan is to guide future development and redevelopment in the area.

The North Main Street Corridor Plan includes the area along the North Main Street from Gwynne Street/Washington Avenue to Grimes Circle.
