What sports do you play?
Golf, Bowling, and Swim.
What has being a student athlete taught you?
A student athlete is someone who is able to achieve high goals in school and also out of school. Someone who puts school before anything else. It isn't easy and definitely has its challenges, but being a student athlete is more than just going to school and learning and then going to practices. It allows you to grow as a person. Personally being a student athlete myself I have learned things like responsibility, commitment, discipline, teamwork, and so much more. It has taught me these things because I had to set rules for myself so I would still be able to achieve my goals, and by setting these goals for myself I had the motivation to set goals for the people on my team.
Favorite moment as a high school athlete?
My favorite moment as a high school athlete is actually more than a moment; it would have to be my senior year of golf. My team this year was basically all new golfers except for me and another girl, so we weren't the best. However, it's also kind of the reason that made it my favorite moment, because since we already knew we weren't the best we were able to make the best out of the situation and have fun. We all were able to cherish our time together and make the most of it. Honestly, isn't that the main thing when participating in a sport? To have fun and be able to learn and grow not only from the sport but the people around you.
A coach/mentor that has inspired you & why?
A coach that had inspired me would be Golf Coach Mrs. Weber. Not only has she inspired me as my coach but I also helped out in her Kindergarten classroom last year and she inspired me to want to become an elementary teacher. So she not only has been my coach for the past four years but she has been a role model for me. She has truly shown me the type of person I wanna be and I will be forever grateful for that. I know I can always go to her for anything and she will help me and give me advice with her honest opinion and without judgment.
