Store Driver

Advance Auto Parts is hiring a part-time Store Driver in Urbana.

Store Driver is an entry level store position capable of supporting delivery of parts to commercial customers. The role has the responsibility to deliver parts to commercial customers and assist with task and inventory processes in the store. This position can be part time or full time and must be fleet safety certified.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed
  • Pick and stage parts for customer orders
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly / monthly sales flyer
  • Daily collection of credit accounts

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Store Cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot
  • General stocking including truck stocking and back stock

Success Factors:
  • Basic driving and navigation ability
  • Ability to use delivery board system
  • Friendly communication
  • Ability to locate and stock parts
  • Safety knowledge and skills
  • Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment

Essential Job Skills:
  • Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and management
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed

Experience:
  • Automotive parts experience is preferred
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be fleet safety certified

Seasonal Highway Technician

Ohio Department of Transportation is now hiring a Seasonal Highway Technician (Employment Not to Exceed 1000 Hours).

Work: November 2021 thru March 2022

Pay: $18.59 per hour

Job Description:
Operates basic equipment & performs general highway maintenance duties which vary by season & include snow & ice control & related maintenance duties through operation of snowplow with spreader, brine dispensing equipment, dump truck with attachments; loads salt into dump trucks using front end loader & other equipment or other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Fair Dates:
  • Thursday, September 2, 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Clark County Garage (next to Lowe’s) (1630 W. First Street, Springfield)
  • Saturday, September 11, 10:00am-1:00pm at the Montgomery County Garage (300 Smith Drive, Clayton)

Minimum qualifications:
  • 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment
  • Valid Class A or B CDL License
  • Good driving record
  • Submit to Drug Screen and background check A Physical Ability Test (PAT) will be given for the Highway Technician 1 position and candidates must pass in order to be considered for employment. Successful applicants hired for temporary Highway Technician 1 positions are NOT eligible for benefits.
