Call Center Specialist

Civista Bank
Civista Bank in Urbana is seeking a full-time Call Center Specialist. This position is responsible for receiving and responding to customer service inquiries (both external and internal) and problems via phone, in a prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous manner. They will also promote and sell products/services, research problems, and document processes to correct the issue.

Responsibilities:
  • To provide world class customer service by answering customer incoming calls by the third ring, when at all possible, and responding/resolving inquiries in a prompt, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls from both external and internal clients and relays information regarding all aspects of all Bank product lines. Follow-up on all situations that cannot be handled immediately.
  • To resolve complaints, under general supervision and established procedures, within a reasonable time frame as established with customer. Handles difficult customers in a tactful and helpful manner. Accountable for other's omissions or errors (takes ownership of problem)
  • To provide Civista Telephone Banking and Online Banking support services by unlocking accounts and resetting passwords; responds in a knowledgeable manner to questions and provides appropriate answers to resolve problems.
  • To cross-sell Bank services at every opportunity; refers possible business to other departments within the Bank as appropriate.
  • To meet referral quotas and sales call goals as established by management for this position.
  • To participate in outbound calling programs as assigned when new products or projects occur.
  • To act as a 1Source technician as appointed by the manager.
  • To complete clerical functions in the following areas, when request is made by phone: signatures card changes, assigning ATM/Debit cards, processing check orders and so forth.
  • To maintain proficient product knowledge, operational and customer service skills through regular training and product review and performs general clerical functions as required.

Qualifications:
  • Three months to one year of previous customer service experience.
  • High School diploma/G.E.D.
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to world class customer service.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette skills and the ability to be a "sales-active listeners" in order to build rapport with the customer and cross-sell as needed.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgment appropriately.
  • Thorough knowledge of all deposit products.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in the use of specific software products that must be utilized in responding to client inquiries, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word and Excel; ATM programs, Deluxe Check Ordering, Deposit Platform and Core system.
  • Ability to use general office equipment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work involves eye strain due to the constant use of computer screens,
  • Work involves sitting the majority of the day.
  • Work involves speaking and using a multi-line telephone system.
  • Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
  • Work involves light lifting of boxes/files.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure customers are promptly and professionally served and meet branch objectives by effectively cross-selling financial products and services
  • Provide a wide variety of financial services such as opening and closing various deposit accounts, renewing certificate of deposit accounts, processing loan transactions, initiating credit card applications, assisting customers with account questions and processing general deposit transactions
  • Complete ongoing product knowledge, financial services and sales-oriented training to sustain broad base of product, service and sales knowledge
  • Project the bank's professional reputation through knowledgeable, courteous interactions with customers and prompt resolution of requests, inquiries or issues
  • Protect bank assets by adhering to all processes, policies and procedures related to branch and cash security, negotiable instruments, information security, and Federal, State or Local regulations impacting teller activity
  • Cross train in various branch operation functions, such as ATM balancing, cash item resolution activity, teller outage reporting, and supplies
  • Complete periodic in-store communication and promotion activities specific to the office, if applicable
  • Individually and if applicable, as a manager, participate in identifying, measuring, monitoring, controlling and mitigating departmental and enterprise-wide risks
  • Maintain an awareness of and adhere to Bank's compliance requirements and risk management concepts, expectations, policies and procedures and apply them to daily tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:
  • Well-developed knowledge of the banking center functions, banking products and related services
  • Active listening skills with an ability to proactively identify and recommend products and services
  • Ability to handle potentially stressful situations and offer resolution
  • Professional communication style and ability to effectively complete aisle visits, store announcements and other activities specific to the office
  • Able to execute branch functions at the highest service level, including cash handling and branch security
  • Capacity to analyze a situation and make appropriate decisions
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and handle basic customer issues
  • Deliver a consistent, high level of service within Service Excellence standards

Education and Experience:
  • Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year or more of banking experience preferred
  • Prior cash handling, sales or customer service experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks, work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:
Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8am to 5pm; Wednesday and Saturday from 9am to 12pm. This position is hourly and part-time. The expected average hours per week for this part-time position is 30. The average number of Saturdays per month is 3.

Farmers & Merchants State Bank is seeking a part-time Teller at their new Urbana location! As a Teller you will sell bank products and services while using the sales skills that have been learned in sales training, accept cash items from customers for deposit, handle withdrawal and deposits from savings and checking accounts, and take loan and credit card payments. You will also cash checks within the limits of the bank policies.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Receive deposits or checking and savings accounts and process other customer transactions.
  • Cash checks in accordance with Bank procedures.
  • Receive loan payments and refer customers with questions about home loans, consumer, other loans and credit card accounts to appropriate lender.
  • Cross-sell all bank products, including FM Investments.
  • Balance cash drawer and reports discrepancies to the Personal Relationship Banker Supervisor as necessary.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer experience, customer service and cash handling experience, preferred.

Shift:
This position is scheduled to work Monday – Saturday, generally with a day off and/or occasional extended hours as needed to accommodate the flow of business.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
