Sanitation Team Member

Old Soul's Farms Saint Paris, OH
Old Soul's Farms in Saint Paris is looking for a part-time 2nd shift Sanitation Team Member.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct facility and equipment cleaning nightly
  • Dismantle and reconstruct machines
  • Troubleshoot Sanitation issues
  • Facility and equipment inspections including swabbing nightly
  • Follow SOPs given by quality department
  • Work with chemicals safely
  • Responsible for passing all nightly checks before shift hand off
  • Responsible for maintaining GMPs
  • Responsible for time management
  • Will meet daily with the quality department for feedback and scheduling changes
  • Prior sanitation in food environment preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand, crouch, twist and turn freely
Training and materials provided.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Hours: 4pm - 8pm, Monday- Friday

Farm to School Educator

Champaign Family YMCA is looking for a Farm to School Educator for the USDA Farm to School Grant Program at Graham Local Schools.

General Duties:
  • Recruit students to participate in the Farm to School after school program.
  • Assist in the writing of the Farm to School curriculum to be used in the Farm to School program.
  • Implement the Farm to School curriculum through planned lessons delivered as part of the after school program at Graham Middle School and Graham Elementary School. These lessons will be a balance of application activities within the greenhouse and gardens and academic learning.
  • Develop a schedule in coordination with the Farm to School Coordinator that provides after-school student programming on average of 4 days per week. In addition, plan and support students in their occasional weekend activities related to the Farm to School curriculum.
  • Regularly provide photographic, video, and testimonial materials that highlight the Farm to School program for use on the Farm to School website.

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or equivalent and able to pass an FBI/BCI background check.
  • Gardening or agricultural experience strongly desired.

Hours:
The compensation will be $20/per hour for up to 16 hours a week. Anticipated time will be 1-5 M-Th. Summer hours will vary. The program will run from October 2021-August 2022. Schedule will be planned after hire.

Lot Coordinator

Koenig Equipment is now hiring a Lot Manager.

Duties:
  • Receive all incoming trade-in equipment and stabilize their condition according to standards. Display equipment according to the lot plan.
  • Periodically “sweep” the lot for sales equipment status, looking for abnormal conditions such as no-starts, flat tires, etc. and report needed repairs to the Service Manager and/or Business Manager for required action(s).
  • Maintain lot organization and standardize space for display and service flow; includes placement and moving of signs indicating designated areas.
  • Maintain 5S lot map, both to ensure compliance and to update as changes are made.
  • Perform immediate wash on all incoming new units that are hauled in poor road conditions. This includes anytime the unit may have impacted deicing agents during transport.
  • Final wash and detail all trade-in equipment on which reconditioning service work has been completed.
  • Maintain the wash bay equipment, including the pressure washer and drainage system.
  • Participate in the weekly sales meeting to clearly communicate status of workload and establish priority for completion of outgoing units.
  • Perform assigned work in accordance with the estimate and the schedule. If completion deadlines cannot be met, or additional work is discovered, notify internal customer immediately so a recovery plan can be developed.
  • Submit work order detail to the Service Manager or Administrative Assistant immediately upon the completion of each segment.
  • Develop skills by learning from service technicians as time allows (job shadow). Technician duties should be scheduled with the Service Manager after all Lot Coordination responsibilities are scheduled for timely completion.
  • Attend training and KEI events as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer candidate enrolled in or a graduate of a technical college if service is career path.
  • Basic knowledge of our product line, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use our computer operating system (CDK IntelliDealer).
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment needed for the job.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Outdoor Gardening Instructor

The Graham Middle School (GMS) FLIGHT program is fortunate to have access to onsite outdoor education facilities including a greenhouse, raised garden beds, and the potential to establish a community garden. We have the need for a part time gardening instructor.
​
Qualifications:
• Experience with organic gardening methods related to greenhouse and raised bed
gardening.
• Experience with composting.
• Experience with hydroponic gardening in a greenhouse, preferred but not required.
• Experience and desire to build interest and excitement of middle school students in
outdoor education.
• Experience and ability to coordinate with additional community resources, e.g. local
Master Gardeners, 4-H, the Extension Service and hydroponic businesses that
enhance the outdoor education program available to middle school students.
• Experience in establishing community gardens, preferred but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and or adapt an existing curriculum specific to the science of horticulture to
systematically teach middle school age students the science and art of small plot
vegetable gardening. The curriculum will modular based upon seasonal requirements
associated with production from seed to market, including the effective use of an onsite
greenhouse.
• Work collaboratively with the FLIGHT Site Coordinator to create a timeline for students
to learn about and participate in soil testing, soil augmentation, composting, weeding,
watering from March through September
• Work collaboratively with the FLIGHT Site Coordinator to create a timeline for students
to plant and harvest vegetables and flowers from March through September.
• Work collaboratively with the FLIGHT Site Coordinator to create a timeline for students
to learn about and participate in weeding, watering, and feeding the wildflower plot to
sustain the onsite honeybee hive that is part of the school day curriculum. March
through September
• Develop and deliver gardening lessons that focus on the science involved in gardening,
planting designs, what plants are compatible plant partners and when and how to plant
according to the timeline.
• Work collaboratively with the FLIGHT Site Coordinator and students to schedule garden
maintenance including watering, weeding, feedings, and organic pest control.
• Develop gardening lessons that utilize the greenhouse to start plant seedlings.
• Develop gardening lessons utilizing hydroponic growing in the greenhouse for year-round production.
• Work collaboratively with the FLIGHT Site Coordinator to create a timeline for students
to maintain hydroponic gardening in the greenhouse October through February.
• Research, design and plan to add community gardening plots for the summer of 2021
that will generate sustainability dollars for the FLIGHT program.

​Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Feed Plant Manager, this position supervises production during their shift while promoting safety and incorporating company policies and procedures at all times.  Must be flexible to work different shifts or weekends if necessary.
 
Essential Functions: (Note: The following list of essential functions is not exhaustive, and may be supplemented as necessary.)
  • Abide by the standards, rules, regulations and policies issued by regulatory agencies and the company
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections
  • Lead by example and make positive contributions to the team each day
  • Estimate labor requirements, prioritize and delegate tasks accordingly
  • Supervise and coordinate all aspects of production during assigned shift, and observe team members to identify deficiencies, problems or unsafe work habits
  • Develop working knowledge of all equipment, systems and processes
  • Promote safe work behaviors in the feed plant at all times through the use of safety equipment, personal protective equipment and other devices and/or procedures provided or directed by the Feed Plant Manager
  • Conduct inspections of the feed plant and equipment to ensure safe conditions. Elevate the need for changes, upgrades or repairs to the Feed Plant Manager
  • Assess employee effectiveness, work quality, training needs, efficiency, safety consciousness and housekeeping for performance evaluations
  • Review daily production reports to make sure there is sufficient inventory to process orders
  • Effectively communicate with purchasing department ingredient management needs
  • Ensure all receiving paperwork requirements have been met and communicated to the purchasing department
  • Prepare reports including time, end of shift reports, evaluations, promotions and disciplinary actions
PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
