CT Comm is now hiring an Internet Technician. GENERAL SUMMARY Troubleshoots software and hardware problems related to Internet and Internet applications, both over the phone and on site at a customer’s premise. Reports to the Manager of Network Operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provides ongoing technical support to current Internet customers by troubleshooting software and hardware problems, and explaining features and service changes.
May visit residential and business locations to provide additional troubleshooting support, modem replacement, networking suggestions to improve Internet service.
Receives calls for assistance, documentation, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware and software problems
Works with departments throughout organization to provide customer service and troubleshooting to current Internet customers
Perform basic PC repair tasks such as system diagnosis, virus removal, malware cleaning, software installation, etc.
Ability to do (or want to learn how to do) tablet and smartphone screen repairs.
May make recommendations regarding policies, procedures, practices, and reporting to System Administrator
Miscellaneous projects as directed.
A+ or Network + certification is preferred, but not required
Position requires knowledge of computer operating systems, computer hardware and software, and a basic understanding of computer networking concepts (i.e. IP addressing and subnetting)
Position requires good interpersonal skills (i.e. communication skills and social sensitivity
Position requires analytical ability in order to gather and interpret data, and problem solve, but in situations where the problems are not difficult or complex.
Position requires basic employment skills and knowledge of relatively simple work routines, procedures, materials, and equipment. This level of knowledge is normally acquired during one through three months of work experience.
Position requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Position requires candidate to have a clean driving record.
