Work in cooperation and in conjunction with the nurse manager(s), registered nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel. This position requires the ability to manager one’s time effectively and prioritize responsibilities to provide optimal work efficiency.
Provides safe, therapeutic care, considering the age, growth and development, and specific needs of the patient population serviced.
Performs therapeutic measures and procedures to patients including such tasks as:
Takes and records vital signs accurately (reports Abnormalities to the nurse): a. Temperatures (oral, rectal, axillary), pulse (radial, apical) and respirations.
Measures and records blood pressures (manual and dynamap)
Height and weight C. Prepares for, collects and transports various specimens hospital lab.
Provides for the physical care of assigned patients by Performing those tasks that have been previously taught and demonstrated through competency testing. These tasks are assigned and directed by the registered nurse:
Provides bath, skin care, mouth care, hair care, foley care and peri care.
