This is a Full-time, 1st shift position. The pay range for this position is $18-$25 per hour. Our ideal candidate would: Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature. Complete workload within established timelines. Work independently and take appropriate actions within a given scope of authority. Adapt and adjust to change orders, availability of trucks/parts, prioritize and utilize down time appropriately. • Installation of various essential parts on fire apparatus. • Cutting, welding, drilling, prepare and paint holes as needed. • Display responsible behaviors including attendance & punctuality, attention to detail & following directions. • Open to change (positive or negative) & diverse perspectives. • Work cooperatively with others to complete job assignments & resolve conflicts. • Plan & prioritize work to manage time effectively & accomplish assigned tasks. • Demonstrate a willingness to work and a commitment to effective job performance. • Act on one’s own and follow through to get the job done. • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with others and maintain a socially acceptable demeanor. • All workmanship complies with established company standards. • Accountable to deadlines • Support a positive work atmosphere through professional and effective communication with co-workers, customers, business partners, and management. • Act and make decisions with Sutphen’s Core Values top of mind (Innovation, Integrity, Teamwork, Respect, Quality, and Accountability) • Other projects or duties as needed. Education, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to read & understand assembly & part drawings. • Mechanical troubleshooting skills. • Experience in safely operating power tools (drills, saws, grinders, etc.). • Detail oriented with a drive for quality work output. • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
