Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
1. U.S. Citizen 2. Age 18-69 at time of written test 3. High school graduate or GED 4. Vision correctable to 20/20 5. Valid Driver’s license 6. Must successfully pass all of the following tests: A. Written aptitude/knowledge B. Physical agility C. Physical condition D. Background check 7. The applicant shall also participate in an unassembled test evaluating his/her successful completion of specific training. The score of this test shall combine with the written aptitude/knowledge test as follows: A. The written aptitude/knowledge test shall have a passing score of 70% and shall have a weighted value of 80% towards the final score. The unassembled test will be scored only after a successful completion of the aptitude/knowledge test and shall have a weighted value of 20% towards the final score. The unassembled test will have no minimum passing score. B. All certifications must be active on or before the date of the exam in order to count towards the final score. The unassembled test will be scored as follows: • 40% Firefighter certification (Ohio Level II) • 60% Paramedic certification (State of Ohio) • 20% EMT or Advanced EMT State of Ohio certification (when not claiming Paramedic points) Qualified veterans with a passing written score may receive up to five points added to their final score. Persons hired will be required to obtain certification as an Ohio Level II Firefighter, Ohio Paramedic and Ohio Certified Fire Safety Inspector and maintain those certifications as a condition of employment. The written aptitude/knowledge test will be given at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Champaign County Community Center located at 1512 S US Hwy 68, Urbana, Ohio.
